A civil engineer with more than two decades of complex project management experience, Paulin "Paul" Modi completed a bachelor of civil engineering at Gujarat University in India and subsequently earned a master of civil engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy. He holds Professional Engineer licenses in Michigan, California, and Nevada, and is working on earning a fourth. Paulin Modi specializes in environmentally-conscious and cost-effective designs for private and public developments.
Over the course of his career, Paulin Modi has developed a variety of notable projects in Michigan. These include the Rev. Dr. Jim Holley Residences and Benjamin Davis Veterans Village Apartments in Detroit and Howard Estates in Flint. He also led design efforts on The American Spinning Mill in Greenville, South Carolina.
Paul Modi currently serves as partner and president at SM Engineers in Rochester Hills, a position he has held since 2017. He sets strategic goals and pursues new business opportunities for the firm, while overseeing all financial and operational matters. His other responsibilities include employee recruitment, quality control and risk management, and legal and regulatory compliance.
